China-based Shenzhen SlkorMicro Semicon Co., Ltd. supplies power devices for the whole world. After years of efforts and development, Slkor has become a high-tech enterprise integrated with design and R & D, manufacturing and sales from an IP design company. With a variety of products, the industrial products include: SiC diodes, SiC MOS and IGBT, which are widely applied in new energy vehicles (NEV), communication devices, power equipment, solar photovoltaic products, uninterrupted power supply (UPS) and medical devices; civilian and consumer products include: silicon controlled rectifier (SCR), bridge rectifier, MOS of high, middle and low voltage, Hall sensor, high-speed optocoupler, Schottky diode, ESD electrostatic protection diode, TVS transient suppression diode, general diode and transistors, power management IC, all of which are widely applied in smartphone, laptop, smart appliance, LED lighting and 3C digital products. We will customers with more high-quality products and serve them better.


Mr. Song gave his answer to 11 questions about Slkor’s development history when having an interview with the senior journalist Huang Qingshan from Shenzhen Economic Daily several days ago.

Question 11: What’s the biggest challenge for Slkor and you? How do you cope with it?


A: Slkor company and its brand Slkor grow rapidly this year, but we have some problems. First of all, as the head of Slkor, I need more time. Second, we need more high-quality; third, we need more money to invest semiconductor. I believe all these problems will be resolved eventually.


I also invest another company called Shenzhen Kinghelm Electronics Co., Ltd. It is a national high-tech enterprise and enterprise of software enterprise recognition and software registration. The company works on Beidou GPS antenna connector and Beidou antenna and does very well. Both Kinghelm and Slkor are invested and managed by myself, so apart from money, I really need more time. I designed two sets of knowledge engineering systems, management organization systems, brand engineering systems, supply chain systems and warehouse systems, because their technology, product, market and customer are different. Good job needs time and we have no shortcut. Therefore, I play a crucial role in fast and better development of Slkor.


Secondly, I need more talents. Talents determine enterprises’ development level. In Slkor’s internal structure, we've been working on “Slkor” brand supporting systems such as R & D production system, supply chain system, talent training system and talent construction. We also try to introduce talents from the outside. Top talents in every key post can maximize team’s value and make Slkor a leading enterprise at home and even abroad. Talents are real resources we always concern.


Thirdly, I need more money. Slkor has started making profits slightly but if we don’t expand production until earning money, everything will be too late. Semiconductor industry is an industry that needs a lot of assets and investment, and its profit return cycle is very long. A few years ago, Kinghelm’s Beidou and Slkor’s semiconductor were so popular that many investors decided to make an investment. However, we didn’t connect the small circulation at that time so we refused many investments for the fear of causing loss to these investors and just accepted a small amount of investment from a capital tycoon in Tsinghua University. I think we need to know what to accept and what to quit. Our company is developed from an IP design company, which belongs to asset-light model, but the development of the company still needs a large amount of investment capital and working capital. Competition in the semiconductor industry is fierce now so we have also started with our financing plan in hope to receive capitals from investors and realize better development. Slkor should design and sell products well, improve itself and sell its shares, which is our development plan for the next few years!


For the purpose of improving Slkor’s basic elements preliminarily within two years, we will still work hard to make it a corporate with orderly management, high-quality talents, rich product variety, high internal R & D strength and strong support from external capital. We wish to realize win-win with our shareholders, employees, suppliers and customers!


Slkor’s power IC product


Over the past a few years, Slkor has made remarkable progress in drive IC, consolidated its status on power device market and laid special emphasis on power management IC, AC-DC and LDO. At present, our products can replace the products of many models from many world’s famous brands such as TI, ON, NXP and IR. Market demand is large for SlkorSL27517, which could replace TI’s UCC27517ADBV and UCC27533DBV, as its technical parameters have reached required indicators and it is under the same level with NXP’s same products in terms of technical parameter stability. Slkor’s other types of products can replace drive IC of TI. Slkor SL27511 can replace TI’s UCC27511, Slkor SL27525 can replace TI’s UCC27525, Slkor SL27517 can replace TI’s UCC27517, Slkor SL27523 can replace TI’s UCC27523 and Slkor SL27524 can replace TI’s UCC27524.
