This device is specifically optimized to protect high-speed data lines in space-constrained automotive electronic applications, making it ideal for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) sensor interfaces, in-vehicle camera links, compact infotainment modules, and high-speed in-vehicle network nodes.
The SLPESD0402-30 features the industry-leading micro 0402 surface-mount package. This leadless design not only significantly saves valuable PCB space, perfectly aligning with the ongoing miniaturization trend in automotive electronics, but also enhances electrical performance and signal integrity, making it especially suitable for deployment in extremely compact areas.
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) events pose a significant threat to the reliability of automotive electronics. The core function of the SLPESD0402-30 is to rapidly dissipate the high energy generated by ESD surges, effectively protecting critical backend components such as SoCs (system-on-chips) and precision devices from damage. However, adding protection devices to high-speed data lines at GHz frequencies must be done without introducing signal degradation. Leveraging its deep technical expertise in ESD protection, Slkor Semiconductor has carefully designed the SLPESD0402-30, which features ultra-low junction capacitance (a typical value of only 0.05 pF) and a working voltage (VRWM) of 30 V, making it a key advantage. The extremely low capacitance minimizes distortion in high-speed signals (such as LVDS, MIPI, GMSL, in-vehicle Ethernet, etc.), ensuring excellent data transmission integrity. The 30V VRWM allows the device to safely protect interfaces operating in 12V and 24V automotive power systems, and it can be placed closer to connectors to provide optimal first-line protection.
To meet the stringent reliability requirements of automotive applications, the SLPESD0402-30 provides an impressive clamping voltage (VC) of up to 40V and features very low leakage current (IR typical value of 10 nA), effectively reducing static power consumption. This device complies with relevant automotive electronic standards (such as AEC-Q101) and, coupled with its excellent rebound characteristics and low dynamic resistance (typical value of 0.8 Ω), significantly enhances the system-level robustness and clamping performance of high-speed data interfaces, ensuring reliable protection in various ESD events (such as IEC 61000-4-2 standard). The mature automated mounting process for the 0402 package also ensures efficient and high-quality production on automotive assembly lines.
